WoolSafe Certified Operator Training for Professional Wool Carpet Cleaners
Would you like to become a member of the WoolSafe Certified
Operator Network?
In order to become a WoolSafe Certified Operator you need to do this
training course. You must also meet a number of other requirements before you
can join this growing and dynamic network of professional carpet cleaners.
Before you do this course, it is a pre-requisite that you have completed some
basic carpet cleaning training. This course does not teach you how to do basic
carpet cleaning. It is designed to take professional carpet cleaners to the
higher level of knowledge required to to safely and effectively clean wool
fibres.

The WoolSafe Certified Operator course costs Au $352.00 inc GST per technician and includes lunch and refreshments, a comprehensive course manual, and specialist training in the care of wool. Book 3 or more technicians from the one company at the same course and receive a 10% discount if booked and paid at least 14 days prior to course.
Refund policy: If cancelled less than 5 days prior to course- no refund. If cancelled less than 14 days prior to course-20% booking fee held. If cancelled more than 14 days prior to course–full refund. If course is cancelled by Woolsafe Australia – full refund.
Private company sessions

This is a two day course that covers many aspects of the carpet industry and is a requirement to become a WoolSafe Registered Inspector. It will include a session in a professional testing laboratory to actually carry out some hands on testing procedures.
Dr Eric Michael Brown
Dr Eric Brown is a non-executive Director of The WOOLSAFE Organisation, a WOOLSAFE Accredited Instructor and the Chief Executive of Cleaning Research International, the official testing house for the WOOLSAFE approval program. He has an honours degree in Textile Chemistry, a Masters degree in Textile Technology, and a Doctorate in Textile Technology, all from the University of Leeds, and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Bradford, Great Britain.
From 1970 until 1987 he was employed by BTTG-WIRA, (formerly Wool Industries Research Association) where he was Head of Technical Services. At WIRA he was responsible for several laboratories concerned with the investigation of all aspects of textile performance from raw material to finished product, and including the laboratories of the British Carpet Technical Centre. He also set up CAMRASO, the Cleaning and Maintenance Research and Services Organisation, of which he was Manager.
Dr Brown has acted as a Consultant for a large number of organisations in connection with carpets and their cleaning. He has also provided expert evidence in a number of court cases involving the performance or durability or cleanliness of carpets and the incidence of slips on smooth flooring surfaces.
Dr Brown is the author of a number of textbooks and manuals for the building and floor cleaning industries. The books are available through WoolSafe Australia.
